The story of Sun Lolly
Since the beginning
Sun Lolly has stood for fruity freeze-at-home ice lollies from Denmark since 1979. Simple to store, easy to freeze and made for small family moments.
What began as a simple idea, first tested by the neighbourhood kids, has grown into a brand enjoyed by families around the world. Everyday family life has always been at the centre.
Since 1979, Sun Lolly has been produced and developed by CO-RO A/S in Frederikssund, Denmark.
The first Sun Lolly’s
When Sun Lolly launched in Denmark in 1979, the range began with three fruity flavours: grape, orange and pineapple. Strawberry was added soon after.
These simple, fruity flavours quickly made it a favourite with children and adults alike. The idea of a freeze-at-home ice pop was new for many at the time, and it soon found a permanent place in freezers, in hands, and in a lot of summer memories.
The iconic triangular packaging
Sun Lolly was the first freeze-at-home ice lolly offered in a triangular Tetra Pak carton, and CO-RO A/S was the first company in Denmark to use a Tetra Pak machine for this shape.
The choice was intentional and practical: it protects the ice, stores easily in the freezer, and fits comfortably in the hand. To this day, the triangular pack is one of the most recognisable things about Sun Lolly.
Flavours through the years
Over the years, the range has grown. Today, Sun Lolly Classic offers nine fruity flavours around the world: grape, strawberry, raspberry, cola, exotic, lemon, elderflower, pineapple and mango.
The line-up is updated to match what people love, but the focus never changes: fruity flavour, easy freeze-at-home enjoyment and a simple product promise with no artificial sweeteners or preservatives.
More than just freeze-at-home ice.
Sun Lolly has grown alongside everyday life.
Later came Sun Lolly Organic: certified organic freeze-at-home ice pops with Nordic-inspired fruit flavours.

Every year, the Sun Lolly Limited Edition makes room for new flavours and creative combinations. Limited-time varieties that bring a little excitement while staying true to the signature fruity taste.
